"Children should be able to do their own experimenting and their own research. Teachers, of course, can guide them by providing appropriate materials, but the essential thing is that in order for a child to understand something, he must construct it himself, he must re-invent."

- Jean Piaget (1972)

Let's introduce our Staff.

Maria Skovsgard, 1 Year Old Teacher

My name is Maria Skovsgard and I have enjoyed a career in childcare for 24 years.  During this time I have completed the state mandated 45 hours, my FCCPC, several First Aid/CPR trainings, and I continually take additional inservice training courses.  I am bilingual in Spanish and English and enjoy helping our spanish speaking children and families become a part of the Bridges Family.  By nature, I have a very loving and motherly personality.  I enjoy working with all age groups, but I particularly enjoy working with Infants.  They are loving, full of surprises and have lots of curiosity.  I enjoy watching their faces light up when I sing to them and when they begin learning their first milestones.

My name is Katie Watson and I have been in childcare for 3 years.  I love working with infants and one year old's.  It's so fun watching and teaching them.  I love watching them discover how their bodies work by rolling over, crawling, or taking their first steps.  Teaching them songs and watching them mimic me lets me know they are learning and that is the biggest reward.

Stacy King, 2- Year Old Teacher

Sheila Lamb, 4-Year Old Teacher

Dawn Quinn, VPK Teacher

My name is Dawn Quinn.  I started teaching preschool in 1987.  During this time I have worked with many age groups.  Currently, I am teaching VPK, which I find to be the most rewarding.  I have my state mandated 45 hours, my FCCPC, my VPK Teaching Certificate, my Director's Credential, and First Aid/CPR Training as well as numerous other courses and trainings I have taken in Early Childhood Education and Development.
